This document presents the results of using the SpecC Methodology for creating architectures offered by Freescale for the mobile device space, implementing Freescale’s Smart Speed Technology. The solutions incorporate a generic processor architecture for code compatibility, but requires additional peripherals to enable the full system level requirements of the solution. A summary of how the methodology has been used to enable the system to contain the needed capabilities shows that a higher level of confidence can be introduced into a complex embedded system at higher levels of abstraction. The overview will give a short explanation of the SpecC Methodology and some examples of how the methodology was used to verify the system for meeting the desired needs for performance, cost, and market requirements, benefiting both the engineering and business aspects of creating a solution.
